In 1919 a little boy named Barty Chappell opened a Christmas package. Inside was a beautifully illustrated copy of Robert Louis Stevenson's A Child's Garden of Verses. I recently purchased this book and fell in love not only with the sweet illustrations but also with the idea of Barty sitting on his mum or dad's lap to hear the poems. The book is in wonderful condition, but it's obvious that it was  well loved and opened often.  The first page the book fell open to was Fairy Bread.
