Product 32/222
This collection has been created in memory of Sionah Tagger Siona Tagger was an Israeli painter, known for her paintings of life in the early 20th century Land of Israel and the Yishuv. In 1925, she became the first female member of the Hebrew Artists Association and is often considered "the most important female Israeli artist of the early decades of the 20th century."
“I felt I had no right to exist without painting,” Sionah Tagger wrote in preparation for the party held in honor of her 80th birthday. This statement, which appeared in an album of her paintings published in 1981, may serve as the key to understanding Tagger as both an artist and a woman.
